John Hughes
was a slate quarry worker in North Wales before arriving in Litherland
in 1901 where he was married and became a tram driver working
out of the Liverpool Corporation Tramways Depot on Linacre Road
on the Seaforth to Liverpool route. John Hughes died in 1954 and
was the grandfather of Ronnie Breen former teacher at St Wilfred's
School who died in March 2006.
Note the 'blackout' blind in the window - also the absence of
railings on the wall, which would have been removed during The
Great War 1914-1918 or The Second World War for the war effort. |
