Bridge Road 1916

the 'Tram' and 'Electric Picture Palace' (closed early 1920s). The
first building on the left is the Railway Public House with the
cobblestone-setts of Holmes Lane visible. The road on the centre-right
of image is Palmerston Avenue. Outhwaite & Litherland the auctioneers
was sited just past the Electric Picture Palace where the roof levels
dip down - numbers 23/25 Bridge Road. The entrance to Laburnum Grove
is just visible past the 2nd tram pole on the lefthand-side with
Croxteth Avenue opposite on the right. The tram has just past Hawthorn
Grove on the lefthand-side with Eaton Avenue on the right. Wellington
Road is just off the image on the righthand-side. |
