The Seaforth Hotel, one of the districts oldest pubs has been bought by the local authority and they intend to let it run dry. A landmark in the district it is known by sailors and dockers far and wide. Crosby Corporation intend to buy the shell of the building for about £2,000 so they can knock it down. Other property nearby will also come down to make way for an extension of the industrial estate.
