FOR BRAVERY IN THE FIELD

Cliff Cheetham; with his mother Jane Cheetham and sister, Mrs Elizabeth Eade, photographed shortly after the Investiture at Buckingham Palace for the award of the Military Medal in 1944.
   Cliff served in the Royal Engineers enlisting in March 1940. The award of the Military Medal was for bravery in the field during the North African Campaign in Tunisia whilst serving with the British Ist Army. He was invalided out of the army due to the loss of his left-arm.
